The Area Agency on Aging (Region I) serves Brooke, Calhoun, Doddridge, Gilmer, Hancock, Harrison, Marion, Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio, Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler, Wetzel, Wirt and Wood counties in West Virginia.

The Northwestern Area Agency on Aging (Region I)

The Northwestern Area Agency on Aging, the Aging Services department of Belomar Regional Council, was designated by the West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services to administer funds to the service providers in the Northwestern region of West Virginia.  These service providers can also be found in the "2010 Elder Guide".

The NWAAA is part of a Nationwide Aging Services Network funded in part by the US Administration on Aging.

The Area Agency on Aging advocates on behalf of older persons, identifies the needs of the elderly and creates plans for meeting those needs to enable the elderly to maintain their independence and dignity.
